LOOT BOXES

How we review mystery box sites

We compare every platform on the same five checks, using sources you can open yourself. This page explains the checks, how we label evidence, how the numbering on our lists works and what we do not claim.

The Loot Boxes Certified medal

The medal follows our separate Published-Policy Standard: five documented categories covering fairness, responsible play, support, prize terms and operations. It confirms the availability of source-linked policies, not a licence, financial audit or successful payout test. A policy may be clearly documented and still impose restrictions. The factual questions below continue to report those restrictions directly.

The five checks

Each check is marked Yes, No or Not verified. A Yes needs evidence on the platform's own current pages or terms. If we cannot reach or confirm the page, the check stays Not verified rather than a guess.

  1. Item odds shown before you open. The box page lists the drop chance for every item before you pay.
  2. Provably fair with public verification. The platform explains its server seed, client seed and nonce system and gives you a way to check a past result.
  3. Spending limits or self exclusion. A player can set deposit limits, a cool off period or self exclusion.
  4. Deposited balance can be withdrawn. The terms do not stop you withdrawing money you deposited but did not spend, and do not require you to open boxes before cashing out.
  5. Operator named in the terms. The terms identify the company running the site and where it is registered.

How we label evidence

  • Checked on the platform's own pages: we read it on the platform's current site, help centre or terms. The source is linked.
  • The platform's own claim: something a platform says about itself, such as a payout time, that we have not confirmed independently.
  • Third party source: Trustpilot scores, regulator notices, court records or news reports, named and dated.
  • Not stated on public pages: we looked where it should be and could not find it.
  • Not verified: we could not confirm it, often because the page was blocked or required an account.

Publisher ratings

The ratings on site cards are publisher opinions on a five-point scale. MrLoot has a publisher rating of 5/5 and is featured first. These ratings are not customer review averages, deposit-volume statistics or results of our five factual checks.

Monthly deposit-volume growth

The moving bar’s Deposits · 1M field measures the percentage change in a site’s total customer deposits between two complete calendar months. We calculate it as (current month deposits ÷ previous month deposits − 1) × 100, rounded to one decimal place. Positive changes are green, negative changes are red and unchanged volume is neutral.

Both totals must cover the same platform, currency and accounting basis. Bonuses, wagers, withdrawals and deposits attributed only to our affiliate links are not substitutes for total platform deposits. A zero previous-month total has no defined percentage change and shows N/A. Rankings continue to follow the directory order; they are not a deposit-growth league table.

Reporting period: Sep 2026 vs Aug 2026. N/A means comparable data is unavailable, not zero growth. No estimates or editorial ratings are substituted.

How the numbering works

The Mystery Box Sites directory features MrLoot in the first position. This placement reflects our commercial relationship. The remaining directory entries, and the comparison rankings elsewhere, are ordered by the number of checks met, then Trustpilot score and name. A number is not a verdict that a site is safe for you, and it does not measure prize value, support quality or payout speed.

MrLoot is our commercial partner. Its checks are worked out the same way as every other site's, and we explain the relationship in our coverage and disclosure. Its featured directory position does not change its check results. See the advertising disclosure.

Deposits, withdrawals and testing

We do not describe a deposit, box opening or withdrawal as our own test unless the page states the date, the platform, the amount, the method and the result. A screenshot of a withdrawal form is not evidence that money arrived. Where we have no test record, payout speed is shown as the platform's own claim, and user experiences are attributed to their source.

What provably fair does and does not prove

Provably fair systems let you confirm that a result came from seeds that were fixed before you opened the box, so the platform could not change that result afterwards. They do not tell you whether the odds are generous, whether the listed items are valued fairly, or whether a platform will process your withdrawal. Our explainer on how mystery boxes work goes through the maths.

Legal status and licences

Rules on mystery boxes and loot boxes differ by country and change often. We report what platforms say about their registration and licences, with sources. We are not lawyers, and nothing here is legal advice about whether you can use a site where you live.

How articles are produced

Articles are researched and published by the Loot Boxes editorial team. Some are drafted with the help of AI writing tools. Facts are checked against the sources listed on each page before publishing, and each page shows its published and updated dates. Opinions, such as how enjoyable a site's design is, are written as opinions.

Updates and corrections

Each platform profile shows when its facts were last checked. We recheck when a platform changes its terms or a reader reports a change. To report an error, email contact@loot-boxes.com. Confirmed errors are fixed and the updated date changes. Payment from a platform never changes a check result.

How we review casinos

Casino profiles are public-source reviews of fairness documentation, responsible-gambling controls, support information, payment conditions and the operating company. Each documented item links to the operator’s own material. An unfavourable policy can still be documented; the label does not mean it passes a quality or safety test.

We identify unavailable information and conflicting sources explicitly. We have not opened player accounts, deposited, tested withdrawals or audited financial reserves for these casino reviews. Operator licence statements are attributed and do not establish approval in a reader’s country. Casino profiles do not receive the mystery-box policy medal or an overall numerical rating.

No casino promo code is currently verified by Loot Boxes. A proposed code or a public affiliate-program page does not establish an active offer. Any future offer needs confirmation of the code, benefit, eligibility, restrictions and expiry before publication.
