How Loot Boxes makes money

Loot Boxes is paid when readers use some of our links and codes, and we have a commercial relationship with one of the platforms we cover. You should know this before you read our rankings.

Our relationship with MrLoot

Loot Boxes has a commercial relationship with MrLoot and promotes it. Because of this we are not a neutral or independent source on MrLoot. In practice this means:

  • MrLoot appears in many of our calls to action, and our editorial opinions about its design and experience are positive.
  • MrLoot has the featured first position in the Mystery Box Sites directory. This is promotional placement, not a higher score on our factual checks.
  • MrLoot's checks are worked out from the same kind of public sources as every other platform, and each fact links to its source so you can check it yourself.

Affiliate links and promo codes

Several platforms we list run affiliate or referral programmes. When you open one of those platforms through our link, or use a code such as LOOTBOXES, we may earn a commission, for example when you sign up or deposit. You do not pay more because of this. Links that can earn us money use the sponsored link attribute. Commercial relationships are disclosed in our coverage and on this page; not every directory card carries a separate badge. What payments do not change

  • Check results are based only on the sources listed. A platform cannot pay to change a Yes, No or Not verified.
  • We do not publish paid reviews presented as editorial, and we do not publish reviews or testimonials from people we cannot identify.
  • We point out risks and complaints about platforms we earn money from, including our partner.

What payments do change
