LOOT BOXES

About Loot Boxes

Loot Boxes (loot-boxes.com) is an online publication about mystery box sites: websites where you pay for a box with a random prize inside, which can be a physical item that ships to you, an item you can sell back for site balance, or a digital reward. We also explain how in game loot boxes compare.

Who it is for

Adults aged 18 or over who are deciding whether and where to open mystery boxes online, or who want to understand how the odds and the fairness claims work. Nothing on this site is financial advice, and opening boxes is never a way to make money.

How the site makes money

Loot Boxes is a commercial publication. We earn commissions through affiliate links and promo codes, and we have a commercial relationship with MrLoot, which we promote. That means we are not a neutral source on MrLoot. We label MrLoot as a partner wherever it appears and label affiliate links as such. The details are on our advertising disclosure page.

What our reviews are based on

Our platform facts come from each platform's own public pages and terms, from what platforms say about themselves (which we label as their claims), and from third party sources such as Trustpilot, regulators and news reports, which we name and date. We do not describe deposits, withdrawals or box openings as our own tests unless the page gives the date and details of that test. The full method is on how we review.

Who writes the articles

Articles are published under the Loot Boxes editorial team byline rather than individual names. Some articles are drafted with the help of AI writing tools. Before publishing, facts are checked against the sources listed on the page, and every article shows when it was published and last updated.

Corrections and updates

Mystery box platforms change their prices, rules and offers often. If you spot a fact that is wrong or out of date, email contact@loot-boxes.com with the page address and what has changed. We check the source, fix confirmed errors and update the date on the page. Platforms and operators can use the same address to send documents that correct a fact. Payment never changes a check result.

Problems with a platform

We do not run any mystery box site, hold any player funds or handle accounts. If you have a problem with a deposit, a withdrawal or a prize, contact the platform's support first. If that fails, the regulator or consumer protection body in your country may be able to help. If gambling is causing you harm, our safer play page lists free, confidential support.
